Papiro from Basel, Switzerland
Former violin player in second-class orchestras, Papiro, has since played in many bands you unfortunately never heard of, ranging from garage punk to electronica and more, playing every instrument within his reach. While his studio work mostly consists of short instrumental tunes, his live appearances are full of atmospheric minimal music and drones, sometimes reaching vibrating loudness levels, as for instance, during the infamous “organ transplants” performance for 17 auto-accompainment keyboards. At his concerts every instrument is played live, nothing has been previously programmed or sampled.
And whenever the world is threatened by the tiranny of musical hype, Papiro is ready to save the day performing as an extremely eclectic turntablist.

Früher mal Geigenspieler in einem zweitklassigen Orchester hat Papiro danach in vielen, vielen Bands gespielt, von denen ihr leider noch nie etwas gehört habt, von Garage Punk bis Electronica und noch mehr. Während seine Studio Produktionen hauptsächlich aus kurzen instrumentalen Stücken bestehen, sind seine live Konzerte voller atmosphärischer Minimal Music und Drones, welche manchmal erstaunlich hohe Lautstärkepegel erreichen, so zum Beispiel während der unbekannten “organ transplants” Performance für 17 Begleit-Automatik Keyboards. An seinen Konzerten wird jedes Instrument live gespielt, nichts wurde vorher gesampelt oder programmiert.
Und wenn immer die Welt von einem musikalischen Hype bedroht wird, ist Papiro bereit als extrem eklektischer Turntablist die Welt vor dem sicheren Untergang zu retten.
